Confused about blood sugar and it's problems? Dr. Marlene Merritt from the Merritt Wellness Center in Austin, Texas, clearly explains how the problems started, progressed, and how most people are inadvertently making things worse. 4 out of 5 adults at the age of 55 are diabetic or pre-diabetic — this video explains how that occurred and why it will only continue to happen. I agree with all the comments about how great, in fact it is really exciting for me to listen too. This is the best explanation I have ever heard and I work in the health system. I have shared this video and will keep sharing it. Thank you for posting. In my opinion Doctors should share this with all their patients that are concerned.

I have pretty severe hypoglycemia. I can't sleep at night, and I don't get very tired any more even though I should. I was wondering if its ok for someone that has hypoglycemia to juice veggies only. I'm not going for very sweet juice, Its mostly greens like lettuce, spinach, and kale with a few carrots. Is it too much of a sugar spike for sick hypos like me? I watched the new video FAT SICK AND NEARLY DEAD the other day and wondered if hypoglycemics could do it?? What do you think?
produceman13 1 week ago
@produceman13 It IS OK but with hypoglycemia, I'd just be sure to add some fat like coconut oil in. You can eat it separately from the juice, or melt it and blend it in, or eat some other fat with it.

Thanks for the quick response. I don't think I'll do the juice only diet. I have really done well in the last few weeks eating 6 snack meals a day. I eat mostly veggies, eggs, meat, fruit, and nuts. I have lost some weight, but now I still can't sleep. Perhaps I'm not eating enough. I'm 5ft 5in and 180lbs, down from 187 in the last few weeks. Going whole nights without sleep is driving me insane. I've been ultra sleep deprived for 2 years now! Do you do phone consoling?
produceman13 1 week ago
@produceman13 Yes, that sounds very frustrating, and yes, we do phone consulting. You can read more on our website and feel free to contact us to set up and appointment - we'll be happy to help! Check out our website (which youtube is apparently not letting me post) and we'll set something up!

Wow this is fantastic! Thank you! I've been wondering for some time if I am diabetic because of how tired I get. But I am 6' 1" 148lbs. Does high blood sugar cause the heart to race (like after eating waffles with (natural) maple syrup? Or is that more of an indication that I may have celiac due to the wheat (another mystery for me)? A month ago I was regularly waking up after 2 or 3 hours of sleep in a hot sweat and having to get rid of fluids. Could that be diabetes? Insurance starts July 1!
StratMatt777 9 months ago
@StratMatt777 Yes, high blood sugar can cause that, but you're right - a food intolerance can as well. Just so you know, 20% of diabetics are thin, so you're correct in thinking that this should be dealt with. No matter where people are, I think we really REALLY need to eat way less carbs than we are. Like about 60g a day...
