This is the introduction to the Pastoral Symphony which was used in part for the movie: Soylent Green (1973), when Sol dies. A pictures is worth a thousand words.

@RenoGreens You have to admit, there are worse things with which this piece of music could be associated. Fantasia is beautiful piece of art in and of itself, all things considered. I salute your children for their excellent taste in Disney, seeing as what's become of it nowadays. :)

WHAT KIND OF A HUMAN WAS BEETHOVEN?! WAS HE HUMAN AT ALL??!! THIS MUSIC CANNOT COME FROM ANYTHING ABOUT THIS SOCIETY, NOR EVEN FROM HIS EPOCH.

@tml2193 Mine do. As soon as I put this on, all of them screamed out "Fantasia!" which made me cringe, but at least they know and appreciate the music, even if they didn't know the real origins.

@Asleepymystikal, for God's sake, what kind of masterpiece is that, if it can be 'ruined' so easily? By just mentioning a funny cartoon. You've got to be kiddin'.. Think of this: if not "stupid ass Disney" all these people would probably never even have an idea of such a beautiful music. We're on the internet, man. Not in the conservatoire. Relax and have fun. By the way, Disney has his own masterpieces, too.
