  • At 2:03 - 2:14, I am really surprised that there is no mention that the 9 x 18 mm Makarov was developed to prevent NATO soldiers (which used 9 x 19 mm Parabellum) from using captured Makarov PMs in the event of a war.

How is it possible for the 9 mm Makarov bullet to have the same stopping power as the 7.62 mm Tokarev bullet and have less recoil than the 7.62 mm Tokarev bullet when it is a larger round (meaning more power but more recoil)?

  • @ace5566 ... without loosing a benefit of accuracy and power respectively. Germans/Americans managed to give to modern 5.56 rounds more stopping power than M-16 had, without loosing accuracy. Russians managed to make AK-101-105, AN-94 Abakan much more accurate without loosing benefits of 7.62 round.

With know-how and modern technologies everything is possible.

  • 1:00 the half life shoundtrack

  • @luuko656 It's more robust too I think.

  • i wish every other Russian speaking videos had English subtitles like this one. They would be much more interesting to watch.

  • I think its the other way around, the Walther PP is far more ergonomic than the Mak, but the makarov is a bit simpler with fewer parts.

  • @jma25able1 Makarov PM fits nice under my driving seat. My '43 vintage 1911 ain't fit any where but my holster though...

  • @1stMarineCapt Ok your choice man.

  • @jma25able1 I may never touch TT-33, AK, Mosin or anything, but a PM would definitely be in my aim!

  • @1stMarineCapt Yeah I really dont like communism but they did have some great weapons. The Mosin Nagant M44 bolt action rifle,Nagant M1895 revolver and the makarov PM those are guns i'd like to have.

  • @BitnikGr Well yeah but in that episode they didn't mention the gun though.

  • @1stMarineCapt I have translated Voennoe Delo episode about Brawning pistlos. I don't remember if M1911 is mentioned there. M1911 is a Colt company product, despite it was designed by Brawning.
