That is still a BNSF train. Not an "NS and BNSF". NS and BNSF lease power to each other, thus sparking rumors of an imminent merger between the two.

Is this along Highway 99 (toward Dunsmuir) or along Highway 70 (toward Feather River Canyon)? BNSF usually heads up toward Feather River Canyon to Keddie and the Gateway Sub.

It was right off of Highway 99. It is pretty rare that we see any BNSF over on this side.
