@Gibby1776 Your best bet is to just find a horizontal-shaft engine - the parts you'd need to convert a vertical to horizontal aren't available anymore. That said, it is possible. Blocks are almost the same (but will convert). You'd need the crankcase cover, sump, governor, oil pump, and all the associated fittings to convert it.
See for yourself - go to Briggs' site. Model number that contains a letter is a vertical shaft, all-numbers is horizontal (42A707 vs 421707, for example).

@Gibby1776 You technically can run a vertical engine horizontally, but in real life it will blow. Why?? The oil lubrication system doesnt work at all when its on its side. Sounds easy, ends up blowing engines.

What did you do to it
at least i can spell other words right. i think. i blew one of these up once. there was some popup problem with the piston rings i guess and it started knocking real bad and so i shut it off added some oil and 10 minutes in it started knocking again and the left hand rod came flying thru the block. the engines was in a condition known as a "fucked state"
