Rebozos are a great tool for pregnancy, labour, delivery and parenting. Here Aimée and Jill demonstrate using the rebozo for relieving lower back pain or hip pain prenatally and in labour.

It also helps with the progression of labour as it helps to realign the pelvis in a way that helps the baby wiggle down further which in turn can signal the body to produce more oxytocin (the hormone that tells the muscles of the uterus to contract).

We also demo how to secure the rebozo in the hip squeeze position so that your hands are free for massage, hand holding, or whatever the mom needs. It's also helpful if the mom wants the hip squeeze *and* wants to be free to walk around. This is my own innovation!

  • @Nawmmbr,

Thanks for your comments. They do make me wonder if you watched the video. The double-hip squeeze is widely used by parents, doulas, midwives and nurses around the world and it is very safe to use by anyone who finds it helpful.

I took a moment to check out Ibu Robin and walaupun saya belum berjumpa dengan bidan ini, saya pikir kerjanya itu paling bagus! Saya berharap saya bisa menemui bidan hebat ini. Maafkan bahasa indonesia saya! Sudah lama saya tidak bisa latihan!

  • Great video, thanks for sharing!!

  • @Shannindhall My pleasure Shannindhall. Funny, I was just thinking of this video on the way home from delivering a TENS unit to a mom who is about to have her second baby. I was thinking of redoing it due to the low volume, but maybe it's okay as-is.

  • Like Janice327 and CrystalAnne I find this very helpfull and will pack a wrap in my doula-bag from now on!

    Tanks a lot!

  • @emmaoh Glad you like it! Thanks for leaving a comment.

  • Very helpful... great :)

  • @DoulaKarma

You can also stick tennis or hockey balls under the rebozo on either side of the tailbone, which provides wonderful pressure-point relief for many moms.

  • @Doulatron You have not specified who can and cannot use this, therefore you are attempting to teach something you know little about. Ibu Robin is a TRAINED MIDWIFE! You cannot get a tens unit without a prescription! You are applying medicine you don't have license to give!

  • That's great, Janice. Let me know how it works for you! I would suggest that you try it out on a friend first so you feel comfortable with the pulling, twisting and tucking.

  • Thanx I will use this technique on my client... due any day now!
