Michael Moore is wrong again. Many credit unions didn't have any problems because they didn't lend to people who were at a higher credit risk. Sub prime loans are for people who don't have good credit. Michael Moore knows this .

The reason that these people were talked into buying homes and not told that their monthly payment would be jacked through the roof is because of the business model the banks created. They put people in positions where they only make money (sales comission) if they get someone to sign a mortgage agreement, so of course they won't tell you the bad news or you won't sign. That would be like cutting their own throat. Then the banks bet against the investment. Brilliant, but pure evil.

@aivilik poorer, often more uneducated people were blindly encouraged by mortgage institutions to take on these loans.. loans that the lenders knew they wouldn't be able to repay so they could make corporate profits. its absolute exploitation

I have been reading people tearing each other apart here. Is there anyway to find a common ground ? I think we all agree there is way to much greed in our government that needs to be held to the fire....If there was a way to find some sort of common agreement, we would be able to make things better...yeah a pipe dream I know...But without it... left and right will fight, as corporate agenda just marches on.
