ANDROID INVASION has always been unfairly under-rated, simply because it is a bright, sunny mystery story in the middle of a dark, Gothic era. The story itself is very good, mysterious, and entertaining, especially in the first 3 parts. This is one story that may have actually benefited by being a 6-parter, so that the suspense and mystery could have a bit more time to work story magic.
A story WELL worth watching, having that "Tom & Lis" magic, even with a minor weakness or two!

I love the old Dr Who (I grew up with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker), but realise that the new series is perfectly geared to a modern audience and still gets me tuning in (although most of the plots I find completely baffling !). Having said that my 7 year old Nephew was recently watching The Green Death on DVD, and had to cover his eyes whenever the maggots or green slime appeared. Amazing that what scared me almost 40 years ago can scare him now, you just can't beat Dr Who.

@xxxslayerxxx666 Nah, the new doctor who is up its own arse. RTD was a shite caretaker and tried to outcamp the original. Daleks in Manhattan was a lowpoint.

Looking forward to it! Android Invasion is one that gets overlooked a little being part of the Pyramids Of Mars, Brain Of Morbius and Seeds Of Doom season. No reason for that as aside from the fact that it doesn't really seem to have a proper baddie (The Kraal just don't work) it's very good. It makes up for the rhinos with it's humor and mystery.
Question: Is Sladen on the commentary track? (Probably not but one can hope, right?)

I can't wait for Matt Smith's 3rd season

Ah, the dodgy Kraal. Despite them I have very fond memories of this story and am eagerly awaiting its release on DVD :~D

I love the way the Kraal have to throw it out there vocally (as Hinchcliffe said) to overcome the limitations of the costume - and in the clip they showed to demonstrate they sound almost exactly like Sontarans...who sound that way for precisely the same reason!
the classic doctor who is on a totally different level from the new....but i'm not the kind that hates the new, the old series was more suspenseful and engaging, while the new one has all these twists and it's very emotionally engaging....it's like comparing apples to oranges, they are both so amazing in their own aspect...what i loved about the old who was that each story was broken into several episodes so it felt like one big odyssey...this recent season was mindblowing though!
