@neplar24 I was a DC for a little over two years in the Coast Guard. It's a pretty good job, and it's very rewarding. Just be prepared to work hard and get good at using a drain snake because the thing that DCs do the most is unclog the ship's sweage drains. That's why other rates call us turd chasers. Afther that the thing they do the most is make brackets for other departments to secure their equipment for sea.

Planning the enlist in the coast guard. I know that i am color blind and this is one of the jobs that do not require normal color vision.How is the life being a DC in the coast guard?

Im currently a paid firefighter in Texas. are there full time firefighter jobs in the USCG?

its the only job I quailified for because I didnt get a high grade on the asvab. So hit the books you want to get a high grade.
