As far as I'm concerned, Jan Hammer is one of the most identifiable composers in the world. He can take what would be a mainstream 4/4, or just a regular rock and roll Johnny B. Goode type progression and turn into something absolutely unique as he did with Blue Wind. He pretty much did the same thing with Star Cycle which is another uncluttered progression, but still manages to stand by itself, untouched by any composition made by anybody. This tune is of course, another perfect example.
Thanks for posting this nohajc. Still sounds fresh and intense since I first heard it in the late 70s. Cheers!
