I honestly don't mind the rifle play in Gears 3. The Hammerburst, in my opinion, should have more recoil or something because of how face it can down. ( Please don't troll me or flame me on this, different opinions on this is fine) But the Retro and Sawed-off is just throwing off the balance in this game. And this is what is killing the fan base of this game. The constant camping and how Epic is trying to get people that will drop it as soon as the next call of duty comes out.
