I was a young mechanic on the California based Columbia during that tour. The details are foggy, but we were in Texas to trade-in the old Columbia N4A for the new N10A which was being assembled at the Goodyear hanger in Spring Tx. We had come from Midland/Odessa and were on our way to either Dallas or San Antonio the next morning. There were actually 5 Goodyear blimps at that time...if you count the Europa and both the old and new Columbia's. Cool vid, but it makes me feel old.

Boring to watch? kpeebles likes watching baby videos, while I like watching blimps. To each his own.

@JeffGR4 good point - actually, I think it's only the grandparents who enjoy watching baby videos (and call repeatedly when I don't post new ones) :) I added the "boring to watch" part after two very rude comments (which I deleted) immediately after I posted. I'm pleasantly surprised by all the kind blimp enthusiasts!

Is this the one that used to be just outside Houston (Spring, TX.)? I used to live just next to its hangar. Thank you for posting it.

I'm not sure, but one commenter seemed confident it was the Columbia out of Carson, CA (not the one in Houston).

Did you not see that this was taped in 1986?!? It was an 8mm home recording - what do you expect?
