  • Love this piece! Me joining a local orchestra is contingent on a sweet alto sax solo for the orchestral texture and this might be my ticket !

  • Bravo!

  • @AustinDeM relative to the professionals, yeah, but I've been playing for 9 years on soprano-bass (minus the tenor, played it for one concert, not too fond. haha). I can play altissimo F# but not G or G#. Everything after that, I kinda just figured by trying different fingerings, so that might not even be the official way of playing it.

I ordered the piece too, a lot of fun to play, definitely one of my favorite contemporary pieces

  • @socialenigma08 Are u a beginner? cuz if u are then thats really good to play up to altissimo E......

  • Sure, dude. Just go to c h a r l e s b o o k e r . c o m, click on the "Buy Music" tab, and scroll down to "Radiant Blues." I ordered it about a week ago, and Dr. Booker was very helpful and responsive; he even sent me a PDF file so that I could work on the piece before it got mailed. It's a great piece, and I give all the credit in the world to the composer for writing it. Best of luck to you, and have fun!

  • i played this song with todd oxford in a different band but the man is god at tht instrument it sounds so clear and crisp when he plays..if you ever get the chance to play with him take it in and enjoy it cuz theres never gonna be someone to play like him great job

  • @narutocola1 I guess more specifically I was wondering if it had any F# or G. Cuz I play on a YAS-23 (beginners alto) and I dont have an F# key, but I can pretty much play altissimoA up to about E. But yeah, it was a stupid question, and I posted before listening to it again (just in the beginning alone, theres altissimo notes.) should have rephrased my question better

  • @socialenigma08

    i hope ur joking...

  • does this piece (all 3 mvmts) have any altissimo notes (as in F# and up) for the alto?
