@ColtonCM Thanks for your reply, The way I see it you have to imagine that planes are very specific in proportions and in any other atmosphere than our own the design would be useless (for creating lift), Imagine Mars for example. though it is similar in size the atmosphere is a lot thinner and would require larger wing surface area to achieve the same lift so I dont believe a generic shape would help to much. unless it was very basic like the ships at 1:08 Interesting argument though. cheers

@MrDenniski I used to think a lot about that, but then I realized there would be a functional reason to having vacuum fighters stylized in the form of aircraft - they could double as aircraft by simply entering the atmosphere of a planet.

Something really annoys me about a lot of space ship concept art. why are they symmetrical and streamlined like aircraft? what would be the point if there is no air resistance? has anybody noticed this?

The graphics these days , Where is David Braben? (the Elite series) the scope of what he could achieve with Xbox 360 or a computer like mine : 4quad Etc. . I used to love playing a trading game in space. Dog fights , trading , warp drive , exploration Etc. Mr Braben (Sir) Would you kindly get your backside in gear and give us a new Elite. Thank you)
