Golden Globes suck, but the Grammys are FAR fucking worse. They are pathetic beyond all reason. They give awards to people like Beyonce Knowles and Justin Timberlake for fuck' sake.

Most awards shows are full of pompous self-patting-on-the-back, with "safe" entertainment. The best ones are those that respect their audience and not take themselves too seriously. The good ones cater to the young, or the young at heart, and not crotchety and crusty, such as the Oscars and the Grammys. The Academy voters are pompous and like their movies bleak and depressing. Yes, there were lots of recycled ideas the past year and too many sequels, but a movie can be good without being bleak.
