I got my new Canon 550D (T2I, Kiss X4) a couple of days ago and went down to bells beach to give it a test. I shot, edited and colour graded this in one day (on the Fifth of June 2011).
This was my first time filming surfing and first time using a DSLR for video.
Camera- Canon 550D
Lenses - Simga 24mm 1.8
Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 85mm 1.8
Sigma 70-300mm 1.8 (couldn't really take advantage of this because of the horrible $40 tripod)
Programs - Editing and colour grading - Final Cut Pro 7
Slow motion - After effects (converting 50p to 24p for true slow motion)
Song - Mumford and sons 'Timshel'

Great video brother... i´m getting a 550d to shoot surf in Rio de Janeiro also... and after your vid i´m sure it will work!! Good lenses also.
