The NASA physicist that is quoted in this film, David Hathaway, is an idiot. He has already revised his prediction 3 times since this film came out. The majority of scientists predict a much smaller cycle than Hathaway, and many predict a below avererage cycle.

The only problem is that Hathaway has revised his forecast downwards and longer into the future perhaps a dozen times since this video was posted.

There were 81 prediction for Cycle 24 and evreyone of them is been wrong. The truth is nobody as yet can predict what the Sun is going to do and we only have a vague idea of when it will do it.

Rent the movie "Solar Crisis" It's not a bad Sci-Fi about a CME that was going to fry our beloved earth into a cinder. There's the bad guys who want to keep the status quo cause there's money in it and the good guys who say they can sooth the sun's anger with an antimatter bomb. As far as cosmic challenges though, that spaghettifying city-size black-hole should work quite nicely and would provide us a quick and painless death.

Think about it. If a geomagnetic storm were to disable all technology on earth, how would the world respond? How would food get to supermarkets? How would water be pumped into our homes etc. Of coarse not everyone would die. Only the smart ones who know how to live off the land will.

this song comes up every once in a while and for some reason it always reminds me of madonna, but i can't say it is something she did, sounds more like enya or something. kinda enchanting tune though.
