Rebuild from chewed up 1986 VHS. Has some synch and colour errors. VHS was almost B&W and silent. Colour corrected and redubbed from audio cassete.

  • The funnier part is.. people hated them for being studio based (when they could play anyway), but.. so they were digitally manufactured at times. Like Star Wars, Titanic, Jurassic Park etc etc. It's not cheating to unleash creativity that can't be done physically in the real world, its using what you have imaginitively. The ones that scathed are now people online, in cyberspace streaming movies digitally to plasma TV's..everything Sputnik were about.. just miles ahead of everyone else.

  • Exactly, what you heard may depend on what was in the news, topical at the time, so what was mixed in was the soundtrack to the times. That way the music doesn't date as it's always 'now'. Also the moan was, they were repetative, mixed in sound clips and sung the same bit many times... hmm sounds like every song from the 90's on to me.. y'know the ones everyone loved so much. As Sputnik said..they invented the future. 20 years ahead of their time means they are just about becoming current :-)

  • Да ладно вам гнать, пока вы Горби облизывали, фотография S.S. Sputnik 1 рубль стоила. Музыка прилагалась, но за 25 рублей. (на BASF 60)

  • Degville does it (quarter of a century ago!), he gets laughed at. Lady gaga does it (now) and people hail her as an "innovator".

  • I was there and to prove it, I'm the skinny idiot that appears in the background at 8:06... That T-Shirt lasted until 2006 when it was finally put out of it's misery!

  • Spotted myself in the background in one shot... So THIN!! So much hair!!

As far as the comments go... I'm surprised at how many people didn't GET what the band was about. They didn't seem to realise that the band improvised around the basic 'theme' of a song so nods and winks were needed. It's very frustrating when people seem to be unable to grasp what's going on. The interviewer is very leading in his questions, too. Fools...

  • Great to see this.

Especially the "posh" couple who couldn't dance and spoke rubbish about "genuinityness".

    Cool.
