"Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" was the first single from Stevie Nicks' debut solo album Bella Donna. It was written by Tom Petty and Mike Campbell as a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song, but Jimmy Iovine, who was also working with Stevie Nicks at the time, arranged for her to sing on it. Petty sang with Nicks in the chorus and bridge, whilst his entire band played on the song. A performance of the song in the studio was used as the promotional video.

The song was originally recorded for Petty's album Hard Promises, but the producers felt the song came from a female point-of-view and it was left unreleased until it was agreed to be put on the Bella Donna album instead. A demo version of the song, recorded without Nicks, was eventually released on Petty's 1995 box set Playback.

I had a good quality vob file source for this job which is always a good thing, but as usual it was dirty with fizzy grain and speckles. It was also blurry and a bit out of focus. Problems I would have to deal with.

The first stage was a thorough cleaning and that took 4 passes of about 4 hours each. I've removed most of the blur by refocusing the image as much as possible before it started to degrade. Color and lighting has also been tweaked a little before sharpening and detail enhancing during the scale to HD resolution.

Audio was great from the original file and has been normalized.

This is the best quality that you will find online for this great collaboration between Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty. Turn up that volume and enjoy it! :-)
