Once again into the breach... Had to move this Whaler to make room for the Vancouver Boat Show- 32 knots of wind on the nose against the tide. Made it ok to the boat yard- Boat was undamaged but the captain was feeling a bit tenderized! I hate outboards, and this was a real pain.

  • doesnt look that rough

  • @andygaras perhaps it doesn't. The problem is that these boats can only go 8 knots or 18 knots. In between these speeds is very awkward. On the day in question, I couldn't maintain planing speeds without beating the crap out of myself or the boat. After trying to plane it on the Vid, I had to slow down and go 8 knots around the end of a headland until the seas were on the beam so I could get up on the step without beating up the boat.
