You are wrong, actually.
Great Britain and United Kingdom are NOT the same thing.
Great Britain is not a country, it's just and island. England, Scotland and Wales are on that Island. The UK, officially United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the state, that includes Northern Ireland as well as the 3 countries in Great Britain.
