This evening I was bored, my darling daughter was sleeping which stopped me from recording anything LOUD... so I knocked together this cover of "Your Own Worst Enemy" taken from They Might Be Giants' 'Factory Showroom' album. The sounds are off my Alesis QS6. No, there is no guitar on the recording. I just felt like messing around with one whilst making the video. Everything was shot in my house in and around my house in less than hour. It's a bit storyboard but you can always just close your eyes and listen to the song instead.
The totally inexcplicable inclusion of my cat Baggy in the video is purely a shameless YouTube stats thing. If you wanna get hits, you gotta have kits.

  • Was that a reference to 'existential blues'?!?

  • @dionelr I'm not aware of any reference in the original song and I didn't insert one anywhere. What were you meaning, precisely?

  • @astralbee the text at 1:25 - 1:28. Its almost an exact quote from Existential Blues by 'T-Bone' Stankus. I'm sure he didn't invent it, but when I saw that text in your video, that's what I thought of.

  • @dionelr You know, I'm aware it is a quotation but I believe nobody really knows where it originates from. Since the time I first heard the song 14 years ago I have always thought of that quote when Linnell sings the line "full bottle in front of me". I couldnt help but include it in my video.

  • Listening and comparing and wondering about the technique itself, the harmonies, sounds etc, analyzing- doesn't lose its magic. Great work by the Johns and you, Sire! (^^)v
