Austin, Texas likes to call itself the live music capital of the world. It is also on its way to becoming the capital of Recycled Visions. These two Austin artists have each been relying on dumpsters and curbside trash grazing to gather the materials they need to build their incredible home spun environments. The process is therapy for one man, a curse for the other.
Part C - Joe Minters African Village in America Birmingham, Alabama
On the edge of town, overlooking a massive cemetery, Joe Minter has spent years creating a sculpture garden. With his talking stick, Minter leads the curious through this dark theme park devoted to the history of the African experience in America, in a city that is the birthplace of the Civil Rights movement. stories of slave ships, Martin Luther King in the Birmingham jail, and the torn lives of New Orleans poorest after Katrina.
