Using only 0 TDS RODI water is a foundational element of keeping a saltwater aquarium.

With all the choices on the market though, how would you decide which RODI unit to buy? And wouldn't the unit you can buy at Home Depot or Lowe's work just as well? Once you have an RODI unit, you're set right?

This episode of Mr. Saltwater Tank TV answers these questions, gets up close and personal with RODI units, and includes tips for those of you who already own an RO DI unit

  • mark, my dad dint like the amount of water being wasted so he made me link the drain line back into the incoming line so the waste and incoming water arnt wasted. was this a good idea or not?

  • @Teslasdik no. Run it outside to water the lawn/bushes/garden or get the water saver upgrade.

  • What do you think about bulk reef supply RO/DI systems?

  • @Arteolike both BRS and BFS have good units.

  • Hey Mark, I set up my new 5 stage system with a Aquatec 8800 booster pump and noticed that my pressure went to 95 psi. I have a well so I needed the pump but I am nervous that the pressure is extremely high. Without the pump it runs at under 40psi. Is this an issue???

  • @elvisfan5308 95 is very high. Shouldn't be above 60-70 psi max

  • Love the T-shirt man, where can I get one? Nice videos btw!

  • Do fresh water fish tanks need 0TDS RODI water also?

  • could i use the rejected water for a fresh water tank and the good water for a salt water tank

  • Hey Mark I was just wondering, have a RO/DI unit from a well known company professionally installed in my house because we draw our water from our own well and although we have filtered tap water, we also have a separate water purification station used for cooking and God knows what my dad wanted it for. Will this suffice for a reef tank?

  • Great watch, thanks....
