"NO CONDEMNATION NOW" A New Song on Romans 8:1 by hymn writer, Kathleen Shea Vick, of Columbus, Ohio. The Scripture text is Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
From all eternity past, God has loved His people. And He will love them forevermore, into all eternity future. These blessed people, who are loved by God, have received many gifts, freely given to them by God their Father.
First, they received a title by divine decree. They are called, "The Children of God". Oh yes! God the Father chose each one by name before the earth was formed, before the world began. They were gathered into His magnificent holy hill of Zion by the gift of His Own Son to them. Each child is a living stone in the temple of God, which is the Body of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Godhead, agreed to purchase them from sin and death by the sacrifice of Himself at the cross. His Name, JESUS, is a description of what He does. It means, "He Saves!"
Then, there is the Third Person of the Godhead, the Spirit of Christ. He agreed to come forth as a mighty wind, blowing on each chosen sinner, sending the truth of God's Word into their souls. The Spirit of Christ causes each one to bow down before The LORD Jesus, as a tall, proud tree would bend and break under the force of a strong gale. The Spirit of Christ makes each elect soul to know, "Christ has paid for YOUR sin! Now, you belong to Him!" And consider, with awe, the fact that each one rejoices at this blessed news.
Oh yes, now these "walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit". They are changed forever by the Father, the Son and the Spirit of Christ, for Each Person of God does a divine work in the saving of each and every elect sinner.
The glorious God Who saved them by the shedding of His Own blood (God requires blood - that is, death - as payment for the debt of sin, for without the shedding of blood is there no remission of sin), now finds no condemnation in them, for they have received the righteousness of Christ for themselves in the marvelous death of their Saviour on their behalf. And the Spirit of Christ makes them to understand this. By faith, they boldly approach unto God, crying, "Father! My Father!'
O, the glorious, glorious life of a redeemed soul! Even here on this earth, we HAVE eternal life. We shall never perish. At the judgment, the blood of Christ will shout, "Justified"! Hell, death and condemnation have been swallowed up and silenced for each of these blessed ones.

O come, Spirit of Christ, with a great outpouring upon the hearts of Your people! O, may we, who watch and wait, see a great revival in the love of the truth of God, which is the Gospel of God's Free Sovereign Grace to sinners in the Person and Work of His Son, Jesus Christ the LORD.
We know that the preaching of this glorious Gospel must precede the refreshing of the saints and the saving of souls. May His Gospel truth unearth the wells of living water that have been stopped up by the enemies of Christ with their free will religion.
Finally, I pray that great music, expounding the doctrines of free grace, would be an earmark of the moving of God in our day. We praise God for the privilege of being a part of it.
