@joelx200 Don't "put your money where your mouth is" me, my point was about originality, not committment and love of their beloved Firefly series. Quality over quantity as they say.If your notion is asuch then your perception seems to be one supportive of sequels, one that brings very little new to the table, and in this day and age, it is pretty much all we're seeing of Hollywood.

@benxander I hear ya. Firefly is beloved because it was original- to do something inspired by it so strictly takes away a lot of the originality.
I was thinking of something with a similar format- a crew of rogues, vastly different personalities- but if I did that, at least I would make all of them very distinct from the original characters. Like have a captain who instead of being an Independent in the war like, Mal, be actually independent- free of any ties with either side. And son on.

Firefly crew were not mercs really. And put your money where your mouth is. You think you can do better? Go ahead. Do the Lone Wanderer story. Get actors and do it. Get the funding and do it. I'd like to see you try. Truth is they are actually doing something and have the means to pay homage to something they love. It doesn't have to be the best story or characters out there. They did what most people who complain about it can't and will never get to do. I'd love to play a part!

Is this still being made?? Ive been following this production since 2006!!!! I thought it would be the first Firefly film to come out but looks like Redemption and Bellflower are going to beat them to it.

Personally i think the feel is so blantently firefly its ridiculous.
How about a story of a lone wanderer? That'd be much more exciting than a group of mercs out on a spaceship taking jobs as they come - considering thats been done... by Firefly XD
