Perlbox-voice is a voice recognition program that can be used on Linux. It runs on Sphinx2 and Perl (duh) and is able to execute a given vocal command into a system command. The command list can be edited: in this example, "music" makes rhythmbox start up, while on your computer, it might be xmms or Amarok.
The demonstration consists of two recordings put together: the first to demonstrate you that Perlbox-voice answers you when you give a command; the second with the volume a bit down because the program tends to listen to itself through the speakers. The (old) backend Sphinx2 isn't that accurate, as you will notice in the video.
This setup was done on Ubuntu 8.04 with a built-in microphone laptop. You can download Perlbox-voice for yourself (even a .deb) here: http://perlbox.sourceforge.net/. Make sure you get all the dependencies!
i also want to know how you made it do next song because i would like to use voice command to manipulate windows (like close, maximize, minimize, etc), move to different desktops, and to navigate browsers

Hi! I found your vid trying to configure mine. I got problems wiht the voice recognition, my english is very bad so i have to edit manualy the configuration files where the commands are to adapt the fonetic how i speak.
But i only can add commands like "music" or "movie" to start programs... i don't know how you created the command for control these programs, for example, to play "next song". Can you explain here or copy the content of your config file? Thank you!
