We may or may not get there this year, most likely not, but if we do it will be to watch not to compete. The reason for this is we started a small size league at Uni this year so we're aiming to be ready to compete in that league in 2010 (Singapore I think).
The robots have a dribbling mechanism which imparts backspin on the ball in order to "hold" it (as allowed by the rules). You can see the ball spinning in most shots, except when it gets stuck against another robot.
The only exception is at 1:22 when the ball got caught on the field and didnt spin (the new field is pretty grippy) and when we played in the grand final and the dribbler chain broke a few times.

These robots seem to be holding on to the ball. Isnt that against the new rules?
