Ware County Wildfire 2007

Video of the April 16th wildfire in Ware County, Waycross, Georgia that started when high winds caused a tree to fall on a powerline, (as seen by my now ex-husband, Axson Volunteer Firefighter Robyn Horton on 4-17-07). Please view my video of the Roundabout Swamp fire which started 10 days after the Ware County fire. These Georgia wildfilres ultimately burned 564,000 acres. More than 3,300 people from 44 states, Canada and Puerto Rico fought these fires.

I still find my self watching these videos over 2 years later. I was in middle school when the fire started, the wind would blow towards Jesup and would infest with smoke.
