the first one is billie jean. :)
Also try opening the hi hats up with the snare drum on 2 or 4 then closing them up on the following beat (1 or 3). Phil Collins does this in abacab. Or you can play a sixteenth note hi hat beat and open them up on the a of 1 and 3.

Oh yeah, I realize they are adjustable. But my upper rod is almost 2 feet long and no matter how I adjust it sticks up about a foot and a half cause I like my hihat low. I ended up cutting the bottom of the rod and using a Die to re-thread it with the proper threads. Now its all good...

i would find this more effective if they could stay on the camera's angle of the hit-hat, isn't that what all this video is about?
