AC16 Hong Kong - Toronto, with GPS Ground Speed (in km/h) and altitude (sorry, this Garmin Forerunner 305 is a running watch so it doesn't have speed display in knots)

The plane took off on runway 07R, and the plane rotated at about 160 knots (ground speed)

The plane climbed at 250 KIAS while below 10,000' altitude.
Climb rates:
at 8,000': 3,000 fpm
Accelerating from 250 KIAS to around 12,500': 1,200 ~ 1,800 fpm
13,500~15,000': 3,000 fpm (wow, 415 knots already at around 13,000')
15,000': 2,400 fpm
Around FL250: 1,800 fpm
Above FL280: 1,300 fpm (at cruising mach)

Sorry for the lost GPS signal when the ground seed reaches 200 knots shortly after takeoff... until about 1700 feet MSL.

In FS9 using PSS 777-200LR I can't even get these kind of climb rates with a heavily loaded plane there... At around FL290 I'm only getting like 900 fpm while sustaining at around 308 KIAS (with thrust limit on G/A)...

  • ok so i have a question the RULE in aviation 250 bellow 10k feet does that mean 250 TAS (true airspeed) or does it mean 250 knots because 250 knots is like 280 TAS around 10,000 ft ALT
