  • Saw the Kennedy Center production a couple months ago. Didn't even begin to compare to the direction and the artistry here.

  • Jan Maxwell now owns this song. When she sang it at the First Preview of FOLLIES On Broadway, there was not a single sound in the room. So incredible. She truly owns the song now.

  • In the Kennedy Center Revival, the couples and the ghosts began to confront eachother, they all moved onto the apron of the stage as a grey curtain lowered behind them. As the drum crescendoed, lights from the pit gradually cast bigger and bigger shadows of the couples against the curtain until the arguments and drums swelled when the curtain was just dropped to reveal a (rather cheap-looking...sorry, Derek McLane) Loveland set.

Very great direction and a very theatrical moment.

  • WHOO! So psyched to see the new Kennedy Center production next month!

  • Dee Hoty is great, but Alexis SMith still rules. And you can find her on youtube!

  • I thought Donna Murphy's "Leave You" was best, but Dee just made me change my mind!

  • Up until now I have only had the soundtrack to Follies so I am really grateful to you for listing these videos, they are a revelation ! Thankyou so much ! !
