White House Auto Recovery Director Dr. Ed Montgomery has informed City of Dayton officials that the U.S. EPA and Ohio EPA have agreed to the City's request to have the Ohio EPA assume oversight responsibilities for remaining cleanup activities at Tech Town, Dayton's downtown technology park. The agreement will speed redevelopment efforts by streamlining some of the regulatory process. In addition, the U.S. EPA will provide $200,000 to be used for on-going site assessment work. The City of Dayton had sought the change to avoid conflicts with receiving Clean Ohio funding while being subject to federal oversight.
