Do i need an arduino board, a shield and a zigbee module? Can controlling a light wireless be done by simply a zigbee module and xbee adapter? Please guide me. Thanks so much!

It would be interesting to see range tests.
in open field?
inside warehouse (metal shelves)?
inside offices and through walls?
Xbee modules come with different antennae, ususally chip ones are the shortest in range.
regards
I haven´t testing the xbee modules extensively, the most highest test I´ve made, was to remote control the robot from one point of the house to the other point with doors closed.
Must test it in open space as well.
