Skater Nation Review Ipod Touch Iphone

I review Skater Nation, the newest skating game for the idevice. $6.99 in the intunes app store. My rating is 8/10 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/skater-nation/id341850697?mt=8

Some might think the price is a bit steep but I think for skating fans it is worth the price. Skater Nation has very nice silky smooth graphics, I didn't think the skaters were too close to the camera at all. The background music is adequate but sadly no option to play your own music. There is a detail move list that I highly recommend that you study so you can pull off some tricks. The controls weren't hard to get into imho, The joystick is responsive, so are the A and B buttoms. You can also tilt your idevice let or right to balance your skater especially during grinding moves or otherwise the skater will fail to finish the move.

The trick list is fun to achieve, some are def easier than others to finish. The grinding is probably the hardest for people, try letting go of the joystick and just hold down the B button to finish them. it's basically trial and error. PRACTICE and you will be able to do a trick.

You can either free skate around which is fun, the areas are quite big imho, you can teleport to different skating areas, even residential areas which give this game variety and more depth. It would get very boring with one area. There is a career mode where you have to achieve certain tasks some timed to progress in the game, unlock skaters, decks, wheels. This is challenging so if you aren't really into skating, you can still have fun in Free Ride mode.

I like how they FEMALE skaters in the game too, so thumbs up to Gameloft for including us. There is a cool replay feature that allows you to upload your footage to Youtube.

If you like Tony Hawk and skating games in general, I would def recommend you buy the game. For those casual players, as I said, this game surprised me, thought it was really boring at first until I took the time to look at the move list. It's got a nice amount of different skaters but the lack of customization is disappointing. It would also have been nice if there had been people walking around and if you could interact with them. No multiplayer either or online play which would have added a lot to Skater Nation. I am def not that great at pulling off tricks but it's more fun as you really practice.

COD video gamer, do you realize I started playing games before you were born? Age has no bearing on being a gamer, I consider myself extremely lucky to have been growing up in the golden age of video games when Pong was new and Nintendo first came on the scene. I reviewed new games that I thought people would want to see and you will find people my age (43) and way older playing ALL sorts of genre.
