One of the winners of the e-Piano Junior Competition 2008 performs Ligeti Etude No. 4, "Fanfares" Performance was on July 5, 2008 at Sundin Music Hall, Hamline University
Great performance!!! He shows perfect control of sound, very clear sense of phrasing and formal development, and makes the music "swinging" and "poetic" despite the rhythmical fixity of the ostinato.
This is definitely the best recording of this piece on Youtube apart from Aimard's. The degree of control this performer exhibits suggests that the differences between his and Aimard's performance arise from intent rather than inability. Bravo!
