I forgot to add that our brother and sister swimmers and para rescue all rightfully deserve such a motto as well, same team :)
-
Just so you all know, the first ones to use "So others may live" comes from the United States Life Saving Service, one of the founding services that were combined to form the USCG. The original Surfman from back in 1876 coined the term, then rescue swimmers stole it when the Surfman motto changed to "You have to go out, but you don't have to come back" Study your history before you post. There was no para rescue or rescue swimmers in the 1800's Just FYI :)

What's this background music from? The "Twlight Zone" ?
-
@MattTrecartin It is, but they took that from Pararescue. Nevertheless, they are equally deserving of the right to use that motto

Gee,I remember some of my patches in 1973 having the phrase "So Others May Live"after doing advanced surf rescue,There was no such things as Rescue Swimmers back then. The term for similiar crewman was "Aviation Survivalman"
