fantastic playing! i wonder if the band will be playing for senator ted kennedy's funeral this saturday in boston? i'll be there paying my respects...would certainly be great to send teddy off with irish pipes and drums. i think he would have appreciated something like that. =)

We would have played but we lost a fellow Officer in the Line of Duty this week. His Name was Michael Davey of the Weymouth Police Department. We are performing at his Wake on Friday and his Funeral on Saturday. Thanks for your post.

Our band is made up of mostly Irish-Americans, and in keeping with the Irish tradition we have a solid color kilt as do most other Irish(from Ireland) pipe bands. And the color we wear is navy blue, the same as our Police uniform, to signify our police tradition.

@Albainn1 Sorry tried to use links for further info but unable to, but you can just google the history of BAGPIPES AND THE GREAT IRISH BAG PIPE. There's loads of info available on the subject. There is also some debate about the modern kilt. the irish wore something looking similar but not the same as the kilt, it was more like a great blanket or mantle than kilt wrapped around the body about 4 times.From about the 17th-1800s irish army started wearing solid colour kilts. tartans are made up.

@Albainn1 Actually bagpipes are used now and have been used historically all over europe. The scottish bagpipes are just more famous the last couple of centuries but they are not exclusively scottish.For example THE GREAT IRISH WAR PIPE, Galileo in 1582 says "is much used by the Irish".The Great Irish Warpipes History of BagpipesTypes of Bagpipes The Irish Warpipes

Pipe bands have been associated with the army and police (both during british occupation and after) Ireland and abroad since1700s.

Ha! Well you can send him off with Scottish pipes and drums if thats what you mean cos Kilts and Bagpipes and the 'Pipe Band' is a Scottish tradition! Theres' nothing Irish about it at all!!

i'd like to see these bands make an appearance on the streets of belfast on march 17th,a people who were never permitted but have to constantly listen to protestan only bands from the orange walk and apprentice boys need bands like this, p.s. all republican bands are open to both faiths and always have been

These guys are great. I met them on a flight from Orlando - if their music is as entertaining as they are it must be great - especially Stephen who married the midget!!!!!
