@remcotorken Actually, it's the opening four measures of a non-operatic work, "Siegfried Idyll," which Wagner composed as a gift for his beloved wife, Cosima. It was originally performed with Wagner conducting a chamber ensemble of some dozen or so musicians, each seated on various steps of the staircase in the composer's home. The music of this tender work was meant to gently summon Cosima from the bedroom where she would have been waking after a night's sleep.
