In a last-ditch effort to save his job, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich told senators at his impeachment trial that he's done nothing wrong and the evidence doesn't support kicking him out of office. (Jan. 29)

  • He makes a good argument. What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? I guess that was old American justice that existed before Trial By Media was the norm. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

I can't tell if he's innocent or not from what I've seen so far, but it is he who wants the facts brought out. That certainly gives him credibility.

  • @monsterzeroJr

Blago had evidence to defend himself.; "Just give me a chance to let the truth come out...", for example, to help prove he's innocent.

  • Until every single tape is played, I hold that Rod i innocent.

  • Bank of America 1 vs. Blago 0 - The banks always win.

  • Sounds like Soviet law is being imposed upon him! Man, why doesn't the media show this stuff? Now I really wonder if this guy is innocent?

  • That is how politics work, Blagojevich exposed the Bank of America scam so the power destroyed his reputation. Blagojevich is fighting for the people and he knows that in politics, you need to play the game that everyone else is playing, he just don't have the power to back him up because he is working for the middle and low class people.

  • People don't know, but House Speaker Michael Madigan wrote the rules for the impeachemnt trial. How can a senate throw a sitting-governor out of office, when any criminal wrong doing copuld not be proven? Moreover, when some of the articles of impeachment were backed by members of the senate, and some of them happend in his first term; and the people of Illinois re-elected him to the office of Governor. But that is Michael Madigan imposing his will upon Illinoisans again.

  • @ArtificialRed1083 - Justice is supposed to be blind. By the way, the one charge of the 50 or so that were brought against him that stuck... (of not making a truthful statement to the FBI)... had nothing to do with the actual substance of the charges the FED levelled against him.

  • @SouthPhillyHooligan Apologies, i thought we agreed also, i thought 'you damn skippy' was an insult. Lost in translation as they say.

    Peace.

  • @enddebtslavery Name calling? What the fuck are you talking about? I agree with you. And I know all about the B of A stuff, he had the state cut business with them over the Republic Windows and Doors closure. Day afterwards is when he was arrested.

  • @SouthPhillyHooligan Do some research before you start name calling, he announced that Chicago would have no more dealings with Bank of America and it all went down hill after that. No surprise when you realise that the banks own and run everything in the US. I believe he is innocent, as i said if the tapes are so damning for him why will the FBI or the courts not release them?

  • ...with few friends and many powerful enemies. If Blagojevich had been less arrogant and more popular, he could've done much worse than what he is accused of and never gotten in any trouble.
