''ONE GOOD COP''

@joebradio No, this is Henry Mancini. Emergency was Nelson Riddle ....
-
@snufpark i dont know about obese, i thought it was more of an aging beer belly, but however you percieved it. good read.
-
i dont think this book was worth a series so much as a well made movie, but it will never get made since great stories like these havnt been made since the 80s, and no audience today would want to see this. sad.

Cool theme song.
-
@PeteGould this sounds very similar to the theme from Emergency ! maybe the same composer
-
@wkat950 I don't think it was so much Malloy and Reed he struck down, I think it was Jack Webb he was striking out against. On the other hand, Webb didn't want to step on toes by depicting LAPD brass politics or brass apathy towards the line officer's daily plight.

I second the notion. "The Blue Knight" should have been brought back in the 1981-1982 Television Season on CBS. Need We Say More!!

To the person asking if this was Bumper's Theme - NO. Henry Mancini's far-superior theme was used only in the 1975 pilot for this series. For reasons I have never heard (price seems like a reasonable guess) it was replaced with this generic 70s cop show theme for the rest of the series. I would LOVE to see someone post that 1975 pilot. I can't find it ANYWHERE.
