Here is the essential bass line for Stevie Wonder's Superstition with tabs. There are lots of people playing the Superstition bass line on YouTube, but most seem to mix up the clavinet and the bass (Moog) parts!
Please note that the original song is in E flat, I transposed it to E for your convenience, so you can learn it easier.

If you listen carefully to the record you can also hear a lot of subtle details in the bass line that I am not playing here, just to make the bass line not too difficult to follow. Once you get comfortable with playing it you can add all the little thrills and fills.

Recorded with a Music Man Bongo Bass (it rocks!) through a t.c. electronic desktop konnekt 6 with no effects.

  • @animotionman Hey man thanks for the upload. kickass bass lesson. are all the strings tuned down to flats? or is this standard tuning? Thanks man

  • @djphosis It is standard tuning, thanks.

  • Great demonstration, the way you broke down the real time beat, and sort of a step by note beat mkes it easier to piece it together.Though,it was somewhat difficult to follow due to camera angle on the frets. Maybe, a bit more direct angle would be a better vantage for the viewers. Good stuff though! I should b playin it in few days, thxs for the vid, very helpful

  • @flexor1 Yes, a different camera angle will be better, I'll try that next time. Thanks.

  • Bongo. Sounds. So. Sweeeeeet. Need. Bongo bass. Must sell rickenbacker!!

  • @baddaboomb No, you must give your Rickenbacker to me.... ;-)
