As a correction officer I can speak from experience that the only way to carry is condition 1. You never know when shit can arise and that spilt second can make a world of difference!

I imagine the whole incident might have been avoided if you had just been permitted to openly carry your glock. Those guys know that risking their own lives over some BS dispute isn't worth it. They see that glock on your hip, they bug off. Criminals may do stupid things, but they ain't THAT stupid.
