  • Start to upstroke more, and use a better sounding guitar or amp.

Do lots and lots of exercises and scales. They might be boring but you'll soon find that you are really in sync with hitting the string and pushing the fret.

It seems you have the wrong guitar for the music you want to play too, if I were you, I'd look at a Fender of some sort. I prefer to play more hardcore/metal so I prefer the ESP/Ibanez range.

  • I really should take this vid down cuz ive had it up for almost a year and i play a lot mor technical then that now but you have just stated my most hated stereotype. Why does your guitar have to be a strat or a tele if you like blues, why a jackson or an ESP or a prs if you like metal, i hate this stereotype. The only reason that i play that guitar is cuz the neck feels ammazing and the balance is incredible. I now have a dimebucker in there but i dont play metal. I really don't like metal.

  • The only reason that i have these "metal" accessories in my guitar stick, is bc i love the sound they put out. Have you heard harmonix on a dimebucker, they're amazing! But Thanx for the advice but plz try not to stereotype people bc of they're equipment. Thanx!

  • SOUND.

More metal music is played through the stereotype as it's what works best. Pickups such as Seymor Duncans' and EMG's are really good for metal, as they pick up more metal sounding tones. Fender use more single coils and one single humbucker for a cleaner tone, taking the sounds it needs to play BLUES.

The stereotype is a stereotype for a reason man.

  • i'm a guitar player, but i can't read a note and can only play crappy punk, so sorry.
