In this Signs and Symptoms video from Veria Living we learn that lactose intolerance, also called lactase deficiency, is the inability to digest and metabolize lactose, a sugar found in milk. It is caused by a lack of lactase, the enzyme required to break down lactose in the digestive system, and results in symptoms including abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, nausea and acid reflux.
Wow...u should make a website...if you do, what is it?

Is it possible to be Lactose intolerant during childhood and then 'switch' during adulthood and are able to drink and tolerate milk? Or the other way around? Also, why isn't lactase produced in certain individuals?
Thank you.
