Summertime (Gershwin) - Rita Reys

Rita Reys singing Summertime (Gershwin, Porgy and Bess), at a sold out Royal Carré Theatre. She's accompanied by the Peter Beets Quintet. Rita Reys's first studio recording of Summertime was a hit song in The Netherlands in 1960. This video recording was made for her DVD Rita Reys Live At Carré, which was broadcast on Dutch national television several times as well.

Gershwin's Summertime is one of the most covered jazz songs in history. Other notable recordings include those by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Vincent, Sam Cooke and The Marcels, and Janis Joplin.
