At my station we have both a pager and a radio. Most of the time if we're just hanging out in the station, we know when a call is coming in before the station alarm goes off lol First we have the screen that shows all calls (PD,EMS, and other fire sections) then the radio goes off, then the pager, then the station alarm. Obviously all within seconds of eachother haha but we definitely know when we need to go!

i found out its cheaper to buy a radio then fix a pager

my pager went off at my dads wedding lol

That is so badass haha

@FFbosmoe Did he say something along the lines of "Go and do the lords dirty work, they must be saved!"

@VolunteerFireEMS Lucky, my FD get's maybe 50-60 calls a year if we're lucky, mostly in the summer. When I'm in school we get a call maybe once every week and a half to two weeks.

That's why I just have my pager on vibrate. As soon as it goes off I'm usually out the door before the actual call comes through the speaker so I don't have to worry about the looks like that haha.

Since school started Monday, I've been toned out eight times

@coolsax64 Do that now. Unfortunately Minitor II's don't have the vibrate option.
Hahaha, back when I had the Minitor II, the damn thing went off in the middle of Christmas Sermon on Christmas Eve at my Church, of course I was sitting in the front.
