WSMV Channel 4 News Scene At Six elements May 3, 1985

This was a typical WSMV Channel 4 News "The Scene At Six" from May 3rd, 1985.

The open music was from Frank Gari's "Hello" package.
The music used in the bumps to commercial within the newscast was a slightly speeded up version of the news sounder that NBC radio news used in the mid to late 70's.* *Channel 4 used the original version for bumps within the newscast when it was WSM-TV, an entertainment property of NLT (nee National Life and Accident).

The bumps themselves, a few were graphical, many were behind the scenes (Inside Baseball) shots.

Lots of Dan being Dan, Dan and Karla Winfrey for instance.

Hard as it is to believe, there was NOT A SINGLE LIVE SHOT in this newscast.

And of course, the standard WSM-TV/WSMV Scene At Six/Ten close with Let The Children Play.

I kinda had a hunch. I knew that Oprah has (or had) family in Nashville, and that she started her tv career @WTVF under then-news director/anchor Chris Clark
