  • I am a Conservative from Alberta, Listen to me.

I wish Giles Duceppe was Prime Minister.

There is no one else in the house that speaks this clearly, this precisely and honestly.

He never lies, and he has a mind that seems to be able to recall any relevant fact. PLEASE, Please run candidates in french communities across Canada.

  • He does not hate anyone, he is simply 'pro Quebec', i.e. representing that province's interest with fellow Bloc MPs at the federal level, there's a difference.

  • I agree... him or NFLD premier Danny Williams. The way he fights for NFLD, we need someone like that at the federal level!

  • I would say that if my grandma had wheels, she'd be a tractor.

  • I recognize the positive position we are in is due to Liberal policies, but the party has become dysfunctional. We can't afford their lack of direction or Canada will end up spiraling down to where Ontario is right now (due to the same problem). We are not squandering a surplus, you are misinformed. We are heading to a deficit and we have to be cautious with what we have.

  • Fiscal restraint entails squandering a surplus? Your myth of "fiscal conservatism" is a joke. The only party that has come close to fiscal conservatism in Canada is the Liberal party.

  • "honest and fair (politician)", "neutrality that can be reasoned with", "'pro Quebec'", "speaks...this precisely and honestly". This is the classic naive Canadian attitude. These are politicians, they are poorly paid actors. Duceppe is head of a party determined to leave Canada, and to leave it's debt with Canada. NDP wants to spend money we don't have. Liberals are lost in space. Fiscal restraint is us sacrificing for our children's future. Try to think a little bigger people.

  • Duceppe is very impressive and I wish he were PM too. He is honest and fair and very fluent and clear in both languages.

  • I agree whole-heartedly with your comments on Duceppe - he seems like a solid guy; I was very pleasantly surprised with him during the debates. Interesting guy.

I tend to be 'liberalish', but confess that I vote my conscience and for substance, so I DO NOT swear life-long allegiance to any party, and would have no problem with more French candidates like him.

My motto: If someone is not against me, he is for me. Better neutrality that can be reasoned with, than passion that will not agree.

  • Actually the bloc have made the English in Quebec second class citizens and they wanted to remove their right to run for office.

  • Heh, I like the guy too, I just wish he didn't hate english people and Canada.
