55022 Snowdonian railtour part 1

Myself and a friend were both able to go on the Snowdonian railtour hauled by 55022 to Pwllheli on July 12th 2008 and this is the first of several videos from my footage. This segment covers the outward run from Preston to Shrewsbury

As you can see, on the outbound run we were at the back and hence only 2 videos covering this run. The fact that there are 7 videos for the return might indicate were we were stood then :-) Anyway being at the back has some advantages and I was able to get quite a lot of curving shots on the run south.

The footage of the departure from Warrington has been badly edited I'm afraid. I forgot to rotate that section of footage and have only realised after completing the movie so apologies for that. Also the sound quality is bad in parts as I was swapping between my video camera and the digital stills camera I usually use. The battery on the videocam only lasts for an hour of footage so unfortunately in the later segments whilst the point of view is far superior, it is let down by the distortion in sound quality. Many apologies for that. It was a fantastic day though, and I hope my footage conveys some of that - even though the standards aren't always too high.

Got a bit of footage of a rainbow near Warrington (see the photo on RSG website too) and we go nearabouts RSGs birthplace at about 2 min 30 where the Earlstown line joins the WCML.

Additional apologies for the shakiness when leaving Telford at about 7 min. Was a great departure but I think my hand must have been getting tired.
